HKTDC Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) will return online from 14 to 17 March 2022. Registration is now open for exhibitors and buyers. The latest edition of FILMART Online 2021 showcased over 2,200 film and TV productions and brought together close to 8,000 participants from 81 countries and regions in the 4-day marketplace, some 2,600 online business-matching meetings were arranged for networking and business discussions.

Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon, April 7-17, 2022
Visions du Réel is one of the only Swiss film festivals to present a majority of its films as world or international premieres. The Festival also has a film market with Industry activities, one of the most important in Europe and it may invite films that have not been selected for the official programme to be entered in the Visions du Réel Media Library to be viewed by buyers and professionals. 
From April 10–14, 2022 VdR–Industry will take place in Nyon, Switzerland. Pursuing our commitment to being one of the key places for meetings and exchanges within the creative documentaries industry.

 

 

Hot Docs Toronto,  April 28 - May 8, 2022, Toronto, Canada
The 29th edition Hot Docs Festival will screen films in cinemas across Toronto in accordance with public safety protocols, as well as offering selection of Festival films online on Hot Docs at Home to audiences across Canada. Hot Docs Industry LIVE: a selected number of passes have been reserved until April 10 for members of the German delegation, participating the festival with a dozen german documentaries.

CoPro 24 | Israeli Documentary Screen Market May 31 — June 03, 2022 in Tel Aviv _
CoPro24 Israel is running shorter as usual, so foreign filmmakers are not able to pitch their projects. BUT we have been able to arrange, that four filmmakers of the German delegation will be able to present their projects, followed by a happy hour hosted by German Documentaries | German Films. In addition, the participants of the German delegation will be able to attend the round tables, the social events, and pitches.

MEDIMED focuses mainly on Euro-Mediterranean creative projects, with documentary producers and directors developing their own creative projects. The participation of both (director and producer) at the Workshop and Pitching Forum is highly recommended. All professionals involved in the documentary industry are very welcome to register, whether as an independent producer with a project, a commissioning editor, financier, distributor, sales agent, digital platform, or fund. It is also possible for producers to register for attendance as an observer. The knowledge of English is a condition.
Submission for projects starts May and ends June 30, 2022

5th IDF West Lake Int. Documentary Festival, Hanzhou - China, October 22—25, 2021
IDF is an International Doc Festival organized by the China Academey of Arts. It takes place in Hanzhou, one of the allegedly most beautiful cities in China, about 1.5 hours by express train from Shanghai. It has a competition program (D20), a forum, a pitching event and a training program (IDF Academy). Strong focus on films with Chinese reference. The festival is open to all lengths and genres, including Doc series.

The Asian branch of the Sunny Side of the Doc Events. The Sunny Side Events belong to the most effective markets for international projects in the financing phase. With intensive networking opportunities, a pitching forum and sales booths for finished films. World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, November 30 -December 2, 2021,
Congress'21 will take place November 30 — December 2, 2021 as a hybrid event with online sessions and live networking events. More information on this year’s format will be announced when registration opens in late July. German Documentaries is planning to participate with a delegation at the CONGRESS'21, which is to take place in Strasbourg at the end of the year. Calls will follow as soon as the modalities with the WCSFP have been clarified.

The Emerging Producers Bursary Program offers up-and-coming producers and content creators working in science, history, wildlife and non-fiction media a range of support including accreditation and networking opportunities for Congress '21, presented by the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP). 
Applications are open with a final deadline of September 3, 2021.

The Buzzies celebrate excellence in science and factual storytelling, and recognize short-form, long-form and multiplatform science, history and natural history projects, as well as awarding projects for innovation and impact. At the 2021 event, 14 winners will be announced and each will receive a signature awards statue and a free registration to a future Congress (valid for three years).
Submissions are open with a deadline of September 10, 2021.

WCSFP is the very meeting place for 'Science and Factual' producers and broadcasters. Next to the SUNNY SIDE our most visited international event. It offers networking events, round-table talks and above all an excellent program with panels and workshops. It is held in a different country every year.
