HKTDC Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) will return online from 14 to 17 March 2022. Registration is now open for exhibitors and buyers. The latest edition of FILMART Online 2021 showcased over 2,200 film and TV productions and brought together close to 8,000 participants from 81 countries and regions in the 4-day marketplace, some 2,600 online business-matching meetings were arranged for networking and business discussions.

CPH:DOX, Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, March 15—26, 2023
The deadlines for submitting a film to CPH:DOX 2023 is September 1 for films finished by that date, and December 1 for films finished after after September 1, 2022. [Regulations] All submitted films will be notified by mid-February 2023.
CPH:MARKET features the line-up of the five CPH:DOX competitions – DOX:AWARD, NEW:VISION AWARD, F:ACT AWARD, NORDIC:DOX AWARD, and NEXT:WAVE AWARD – as well all special programmes. The Market is primarily targeted to international TV buyers, sales agents, festivals, curators, journalists and distribution companies. CPH:FORUM taking place March 21-23, 2023 in Copenhagen and online. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2022.

Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon, April 7-17, 2022
Visions du Réel is one of the only Swiss film festivals to present a majority of its films as world or international premieres. The Festival also has a film market with Industry activities, one of the most important in Europe and it may invite films that have not been selected for the official programme to be entered in the Visions du Réel Media Library to be viewed by buyers and professionals. 
From April 10–14, 2022 VdR–Industry will take place in Nyon, Switzerland. Pursuing our commitment to being one of the key places for meetings and exchanges within the creative documentaries industry.



Hot Docs Toronto,  April 28 - May 8, 2022, Toronto, Canada
The 29th edition Hot Docs Festival will screen films in cinemas across Toronto in accordance with public safety protocols, as well as offering selection of Festival films online on Hot Docs at Home to audiences across Canada. Hot Docs Industry LIVE: a selected number of passes have been reserved until April 10 for members of the German delegation, participating the festival with a dozen german documentaries.

MEDIMED focuses mainly on Euro-Mediterranean creative projects, with documentary producers and directors developing their own creative projects. The participation of both (director and producer) at the Workshop and Pitching Forum is highly recommended. All professionals involved in the documentary industry are very welcome to register, whether as an independent producer with a project, a commissioning editor, financier, distributor, sales agent, digital platform, or fund. It is also possible for producers to register for attendance as an observer. The knowledge of English is a condition.

MEDIMED DOC MARKET is willing to offer innovative opportunities to give market-entry chances for compelling projects from Low Production Capacity Countries and other excluded groups.
To structure this commitment a new activity was introduced last year.
NEW PLAYERS PITCH: This section pairs producers from under-represented regions and a selection of experienced independent producers. The aim is to build new professional networks that can be beneficial for both parties. The MEDIMED team is inviting professional producers to be part of the select group of European producers that will attend an online pitching-panel to know more about a selection of 12 projects in development from nine different countries, seeking international co-production on Tuesday 11 October from 10:00am to 1:30pm on Zoom. The session will be moderated by John Marshall and it will be less formal than the usual pitching formats. 5th IDF West Lake Int. Documentary Festival, Hanzhou - China, October 22—25, 2021
IDF is an International Doc Festival organized by the China Academey of Arts. It takes place in Hanzhou, one of the allegedly most beautiful cities in China, about 1.5 hours by express train from Shanghai. It has a competition program (D20), a forum, a pitching event and a training program (IDF Academy). Strong focus on films with Chinese reference. The festival is open to all lengths and genres, including Doc series.

Submissions are now open for The Buzzies, celebrating excellence in science and factual storytelling. There are awards for long, short and multiplatform formats, individual achievements, and innovation and impact. Winners will be announced during the 2022 event, which will take place November 28 to December 1 in Glasgow, UK. Each winner will receive a signature statue and registration for a future Congress. All who submit are eligible for a Congress '22 registration discount.

WCSFP is the very meeting place for 'Science and Factual' producers and broadcasters. Next to the SUNNY SIDE our most visited international event. It offers networking events, round-table talks and above all an excellent program with panels and workshops. It is held in a different country every year.
