And as Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters explains "In the coming months, the Corona pandemic will continue to be a huge challenge for all cinemas, producers and distributors. For this reason, together with the German Film Academy, we have decided to hold the German Film Awards ceremony in the fall of 2021 rather than in the spring as usual. In this way, we are creating greater planning security for producers and distributors when submitting their films to the German Film Awards. We look forward to the coming year with hope – and are doing all we can to support cinemas and the film industry in weathering and overcoming the crisis."
