    Synopsis

    More than forty years ago, Batkhorol Sagdkhorol, known as Sabat – a film student and diplomat from the Mongolian embassy in East Berlin – disappeared without a trace. Was he a spy, a defector, on the run, or entangled in the machinery of the regime? Was he a spy, a defector, on the run, or entangled in the machinery of the regime? Decades later, the filmmaker embarks on a search for the family friend: from her university in Babelsberg to the remote corners of Mongolia.
