A large program of 22 German productions and co-productions, including some world premieres, at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, North America's largest documentary film festival, conference and market, held annually since 1993 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the sections Special Presentation, Big Ideas, World Shwocase, The Changing Face of EuropeArtscapes , DocX, Made in MexicoShorts, and International Spectrum.
A total of 246 films and 16 interdisciplinary projects from 56 countries are at this year's Hot Docs — and half the films at the 25th edition of the Toronto documentary festival come from female directors, and many have themes related to women. Hot Docs achieves gender parity — as well as the lineup of the german documentaries.
