Synopsis
It is a journey through three generations and more than 70 years of filmmaking and history in Germany. Paul Verhoeven was a major stage director in the 1930s, but became famous primarily as a film director during the Third Reich and in post-war Germany. This portrait with film clips from various epochs of the German film is a combination of film history and family biography.
