Synopsis
The annual A-Bombers Old Style Weekend in Sweden is an all outdoor event for hot rods, kustoms, motorcycles in '30s – '50s American style plus original American cars up to 1956 model with live music like Swing, Rockabilly and Hillibilly, a jiving lesson and a wild hillclimbrace at Devils Peak . The camping field has toilets and a few showers in a very simple conditions, but it is the total Rockin' Rollin' Car and Bike meeting in the world!
Very simple means the camp "Backamo Lagerplats", where in the year of 1945 from all over Sweden foreign soldiers were gathered, did not change very much since that.
These big boys were fascinated of the American post-WW II styling of motorcycles and hot rods and also liked the style of clubs that came out of this era. The name A-Bombers came from the word A-bomb which of course meant Atomic Bomb, but the main reason these guys chose it was in the meaning of a highly tuned old car: a hot rod! A journey into the past when the war (seemed) to be over. With music composed nowadays by Kent Vikmo, one of the founders of the A-Bombers performed by himself and his bands.
