Synopsis
In SCHULE, SCHULE – DIE ZEIT NACH BERG FIDEL Hella Wenders continues to tell the stories of the four children from part one of her documentary (BERG FIDEL).David, Jakob, Anita and Lucas went to the inclusive elementary school “Berg Fidel”, a school that specialises in teaching children with special educational needs. Now their sheltered time in elementary school is over and we follow the protagonists on their way into various secondary schools. Dreams, hopes, fears, worries: we experience the trials and tribulations of their new life stages and how they can cope with their impairments. Meanwhile, Sabina, a girl with special needs, is allowed to stay at the elementary school Berg Fidel beyond fourth grade. A longer period of learning together - from the first to the tenth grade - has become possible at the Primus model school from summer 2014.
How are the other secondary schools prepared for special learning requirements? How are the protagonists’ chances at the respective educational institutions with the kind of school reports they have received? How can the different parties support the four protagonists in the difficult stage of adolescence? Or are they entirely on their own? These will not be the only questions that arise when we accompany the four youngsters close up and at eye level in this decisive time in their lives.
