In 1994, Ami founded the Hamburger Tafel food service for the poor and over the years built it up to become a large logistics company. This portrait is a reminiscence of the grande dame with the bottomless heart who died in 2016. Full of energy and in her heart young till the very end: that‘s how friends and companions describe Annemarie Dose, known universally as Ami. To fill her storerooms, she sought the shortest routes and used her powers of persuasion on the telephone to talk to managing directors and CEOs. The trigger for her commitment was the death of her husband. The woman from Volksdorf, Hamburg turned her life upside down in her mid-60s and switched from Hanseatic high society to helping the neediest. A brave step taken by an extraordinary personality – and the start of an extremely successful social project. [Filmfest Hamburg]
