Director's Statement
This film is my personal journey through a shifting reality intimately captured on my mobile phone. I was living a stable life in Russia until the winter of 2022 when I unexpectedly fell in love with Yaroslava a woman from Siberia amidst the turmoil of war and her battle with lung cancer. Our love story unfolds in a city engulfed in chaos. We confront anti-war protests and personal struggles trying to save our love and ourselves. The film traces our emotional rollercoaster and Yaroslava’s path to recovery. Shot from March 2022 to May 2023 it portrays a challenging period in my life and my pursuit of love and happiness even as I leave my home – Russia. I captured this period of my budding love surrounded by a collapsing reality.
