The film tells the story of a region and its people in upheaval. With the imminent dismantling of the local lignite industry and the public protest against climate change, the region near Cologne is directly confronted. Willy, Sina and Thomas live in Bedburg, a town close to an active open-cast lignite mine and in the middle of several coal-fired power plants. The 3 residents from three generations are faced with the challenge to remain in structures or to break them up.

A documentary about gold-miners and their daily work in remote villages in the Andes of Colombia. The camera follows deep down into tunnels, where gold was extracted for more than 400 years. The gold they find is exchanged for money at the merchant. There the miners find out, how much value the work of their last days actually had.
