The film was made on the basis of an interview with my neighbor Berta Zanker, former home economics teacher, born in Augsburg, Bavaria in 1923. As one of the last contemporary witnesses, she tells her very personal memories of her childhood in the country and her later life in Augsburg before and during the war between 1930 and 1945.
