We all know the big bad wolf of fairy-tale fame – over hundreds of years the wolf has become a culturally imprinted symbol of fear that’s completely detached from reality. In fact there weren’t even any wolves in western Europe for a long time. But they’re back – for example in Germany, where these social animals now occupy a few scattered areas around the country that people have left to them. The comeback of the wolf in Germany resulted from a democratic decision that is carefully managed within a bureaucratic framework. This meticulous documentary follows some of the people – scientists, conservationists and shepherds – who are keeping a close eye on the wolves.Scenes of these people at work in the field and in laboratories are interspersed with conversations and presentations at political hearings. As well as monitoring the wolves, they add their voices to counter the fact-free public debate and tendentious arguments put forward by opponents. [IDFA]

With his studio Atelier Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design, Konstantin Grcic is at the forefront of product and furniture design. He is considered one of the most innovative and profound contemporary designers and thinkers worldwide. Many of his designs are already in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, such as his legendaryChair_One, or his lamp Mayday, a portable floor or suspended lamp made of plastic, reminiscent of the illumination devices found in an auto repair shop.? Grcic argues at a certain remove from such terms as aesthetics of form, or comfort, using such expressions as narration, context, surrounding space. His focus is on human beings and theirenvironment; the things with which they surround themselves, and that surround them.

But how can democratic thinking and acting be established in a country that has never experienced it before? Ashraf El Sharkawy, 39, knows Egypt only from his summer holidays. Born and raised in Germany to Egyptian parents he has become a succsessfull manager for the largest insurance company in the world when the revolution on Tahrir-Square unfolds and Ashraf hears his call. Driven by the urge to give something back to his ancestor's country he returns to Egypt to start a democratization campaign called ‘Freedom Bus’. His goal is to reach one million peope in six months prior to the elections. Will the bus hold and will the people listen to a foreigner?

The starred chef Ferran Adrià is known as the best, most innovative and craziest cook in the world. In his always fully booked restaurant „El Bulli“, 50 persons are permitted to experience through 30 courses the split between his technical-conceptual cuisine and all conventions of culinary art as well as our general vision of cooking. Every year, the restaurant closes for six months. During this time, Adrià and his creative team retire to their cooking laboratory in Barcelona, to create a new menu for the following season. Everything is allowed – except of copying themselves. One year with Ferran Adrià, the development of a new menu, searching for the essence of creativity and obsession in a place where they already call the „frozen parmesan air with cereals“ from 2004 a classical dish.
