The film tells the personal story of the so-called 'GDR-Kids', who could escape from Namibian liberation struggle to their refuge in East Germany. Touching archive material describes their arrival in 1978 and the life at the East German boarding school up to the day they had to step again onto the ground of their motherland in Africa.
