Synopsis
A village in Vietnam. 100 disabled children and Vietnamese war veterans live here in the "Friendship Village". All of them suffer from late consequences of Agent Orange. The defoliant which contains dioxin was used by the US military during the Vietnam war (1964 to 1975). Not only the soldiers and civilians suffer from the consequences of the "dioxin treatment"; meanwhile there is the third generation of children who are born mentally and/or physically disabled. George Mizo (1945-2002), a highly decorated US soldier and Vietnam war veteran, learned the hard way that it is wrong to kill, even in war. He initiated the Friendship Village as a place for peace, reconciliation and hope. Timo Mugele and Marcus Niehaves made a documentary about the Friendship Village and George Mizo who lived in a little village close to Stuttgart. As president of the International Committee for the Vietnam Friendship Village and together with his wife Rosi, George Mizo worked for the Friendship Village until he died in 2002
