    Synopsis

Ingeborg Bachmann, one of the most prominent German-language poets and writers, began revealing her literary talent at the age of twelve. Her meteoric rise to popularity, linked to her time in Berlin and involvement in the literary circle Gruppe 47, landed her on the cover of Der Spiegel. Her life was shaped by prominent male figures, including Hans Werner Henze, for whom she wrote librettos, and Max Frisch, with whom she lived in Rome for several years. Actress Sandra Hüller, her admirer and guide, leads us through a meditation on this extraordinary woman and her troubled life. Drawing on fragments of poems and novels, she lays bare the tragic fate of an artist beset by hardship and doubt, and determined to die.
