Synopsis
The village of Montaretto nestles in a pine forest on the cliffs of the Italian Riviera. At first sight, it seems to be a village like any other. But appearances are deceptive, because Montaretto enjoys a proud reputation as the last bastion of communism. For northern Italy´s leftist scene, this little village has gained a near-mythological status.Montaretto brings in mind the "little Gallic village" from that famous comic strip, where people ignore the political edicts of the Roman goverment and live a life of cheerful and stubborn originality. "Montaretto for example" questions the "Communism alla Montaretto" in a very witty and critical way.
