"loves" tells personal love stories of people who live open forms of relationship and family. The film shows a seemingly utopian love that connects more than two people and the lovers' experience daring their counter-concept to monogamy. Change is narrated as a defining constant in life and in relationships. As a result the protagonists are confronted with their own and their partners' insecurities. The desire for openness must be measured against personal fears and expectations.
