Amadeu Antonio came to the GDR from Angola as a "contract worker" in 1987. One year after the opening of the Wall, on the night of November 24-25, 1990, Amadeu Antonio and some of his work colleagues were attacked by a group of neo-Nazis and skinheads in front of the discotheque "Hüttengasthof" in Eberswalde, a small town northwest of Berlin.
